Irizar e-mobility to deliver 113 electric buses to Paris

Spanish electric bus-builder Irizar e-mobility, which has already supplied e-buses to several French cities, has signed an agreement with Paris transit agency RATP (Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens) to supply zero-emission buses to the French capital.

In the first two years of the contract, Irizar will deliver 113 units of its latest-generation Irizar ie bus. Each 12-meter bus is equipped with a 350 kWh Irizar battery pack. Charging will take place via an AC charging system at bus depots. The electronics, communications and other components and systems on the buses use technology from the Irizar Group.

Irizar e-mobility will establish an after-sales service facility in Paris.

This project is part of RATP’s Bus2025 program, which has set a goal of powering all the agency’s buses with electricity or biofuel by 2025.

“Being able to implement our electromobility solutions in a city like Paris, which is a world leader in electromobility, is a major challenge,” says General Director of Irizar e-mobility Imanol Rego. “It’s a very ambitious project that represents a big step forward in our position in the French market, and it reaffirms our strategy of providing turn-key services for sustainable, efficient, intelligent, accessible, safe and connected mass transit.”
